Sustainability Practices at the Winery

Mark is checking in on the grapes at Copeland Vineyard, a Sustainable-WA certified vineyard.

We have set some sustainability goals to ensure our winemaking practices align with our values.

We source our grapes from growers who use sustainable farming practices whenever possible. Sustainability objectives for grape growers include preserving natural resources, watershed protection, soil health, low-input farming, employee and community stewardship, and climate resiliency. In the 2023 vintage, 70% of our grapes were sourced from the following sustainable vineyards:

Sustainable WA

  • Copeland Vineyard (Rattlesnake Hills) (pictured above)

  • Dineen Vineyard (Yakima Valley)

  • Angiolina Vineyard (Rattlesnake Hills)

Vinewise Sustainable (WSU)

  • Lonesome Springs Ranch Vineyard

  • Inland Desert Vineyard

We use locally sourced and lower-weight wine bottles to reduce the cost and environmental impact of shipping the bottles to the winery and when we ship our wine to you. We also use recyclable and reusable packaging (wine bags, pulp wine shippers made with 99% recycled fiber) and welcome you to bring in your wine bags and return shippers to the winery so they can be reused. And we recycle our wine corks and provide cork recycling for our customers. Just bring your corks to the tasting room and drop them in the TerraCycle box.

There are always new ways to lessen our impact on the environment. This year, we’re testing the Origine by Diam sustainable wine corks for possible use in 2025. In addition to providing a TCA-free wine experience, these enclosures are made from ground cork with bio-based binding agents and 100% natural beeswax.
